Peter Shanelaris - Independent / Production Company Specialist

With a background as an independent filmmaker, Peter has been providing clients ranging from independents to broadcasters with technical know how and solid production techniques that get the job done.  As a Steadicam owner/operator, producer, editor and director of photography, his advice is based on real world experience that you can only get in the field by practicing what you preach.  When Peter isn’t selling audio and video equipment he is buying it, shooting a movie with it, and then teaching others how to do the same.  In his spare time he works on Hang Dogs, his HD feature on hang gliding.

Kip Sheedy - Installation Manager

After a long and illustrious career in the high-tech industry, Kip shifted his attention to video production and event staging. For five years he worked as a freelance technician. He worked local and national events as camera operator, video engineer, projection engineer, and sound technician to name just a few of the tasks he has performed. After years of setup and take-down equipment, he now focuses of system design and installation.

Kip knows the Audio and Video business from the inside out. He has climbed, crawled, squeezed though and hung from more parts of a building than most people know exist. You’ll recognize him as the legs hanging though the ceiling.

Joan Weinstein - General Manager / Owner / a.k.a. “The Big Cheese”

As a graduate of Parsons School of Design with a Certificate of Interior Design, becoming owner and General Manager of Great Northern Video was simple: a mere gargantuan, emotion-packed leap! The little garage on Loudon Road was an air conditioned oasis for my infant son and me the sweltering summer of 1984. One fateful day I picked up the phone and said, “Thank you for calling Great Northern Video. May I help you?” My destiny was sealed and my video education began. I was an “employee” of Great Northern Video until my husband, Harvey Weinstein, passed away in February of 2004. Not wanting to abandon our faithful employees to the vultures, I sat in the “big chair” and have been here ever since. “What a long, strange trip it’s been…”

As a graduate student he honed his skill in theatrical sound and was employed by his Alma Mater as the sound engineer for all of the majors shows that came to the school. He also owned a recording studio after grad school for a few years and then was part owner of a video production company responsible for all the audio both on location and small truck field work.  If you have any questions that are audio related, or you need a fake Santa, drop Garden Gnome a line or email.  Don’t let his goofy looks fool you, Lenny can bore you for hours of intensive audio know how.

Tom Severence - Shipping / Receiving

Tom has had a lengthy career as a mechanic repairing everything from string trimmers to pleasure boats.  He then worked with Husqvarna as a Warehouse Manager until they decided to cut loose from NH.  We took pity on the crotchety ole boy and brought him to our warehouse.  After “retiring” we sent him and his wife Donna to Paris France...he did find his way home though (surprisingly strong swimmer).  Tom now takes up room (again) in the warehouse part-time.  Be it known: He’s no friend to lawn ornaments

Brian Maneely - Installation

I’ve been interested with electronics since I was about 6, and got my start in the field by gracefully tearing apart my Mom’s vacuum cleaner to see what made it work. Shortly there after, I attended as many technology classes as I could in high school, and college. After spending a collective 4 years as a carpenter, I jumped head first into the field of auto mechanics and spent about 2 years hiding under vehicles, and convincing customers that there are no such things as muffler bearings. This brings us to today, where with the help of Kip, I am embarking on a new and exciting quest in Installation World. Where there will be many battles to be fought, and won, all in the name of AV geeks everywhere.
